After an aging farmer, Matthew Cuthbert, suffers a heart attack, his sister, Marilla, convinces him to adopt an orphanage boy to help out with the farm work. However, to their surprise, a girl arrives. At first, Matthew’s sister wants to send Anne home right away. However, Matthew decides to let her stay. Fighting all odds, Anne uses her charm to win the hearts of Matthew and Marilla as well as her classmates and town folk.
